AdaptHealth to buy home medical equipment business from Advanced Home Care

AdaptHealth Corp. agreed to acquire the home medical equipment business of private company Advanced Home Care Inc., a wholly owned unit of American HomePatient Inc.

Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.

Phoenixville, Pa.-based AdaptHealth expects to close the deal in the first quarter of 2020, subject to closing conditions. On closing, the home medical equipment business of Advanced Home Care — which generated net revenues of $83 million in the 12 months ending September — will be integrated into Adapt Health, according to the company's Dec. 9 press release.

Advanced Home Care provides medical equipment, machines, supplies, oxygen, ventilation and traditional durable medical equipment to patients through its 23 branch locations in Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia.

Additionally, AdaptHealth expects to sign a long-term lease for Advanced Home Care's headquarters located in High Point, N.C.

Moreover, executives of Advanced Home Care are expected to join AdaptHealth.

AdaptHealth said in November that it is acquiring McKesson Corp.'s patient care solutions business to bolster its home medical equipment product portfolio.
