Starzen Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended Sept. 30 came to ¥113.11 per share, an increase from ¥30.54 per share in the prior-year period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥906.0 million, an increase from ¥244.1 million in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin rose to 1.3% from 0.4% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue increased 10.9% year over year to ¥70.27 billion from ¥63.34 billion, and total operating expenses grew 9.3% from the prior-year period to ¥68.87 billion from ¥63.01 billion.
Reported net income grew year over year to ¥949.0 million, or ¥118.48 per share, from ¥63.0 million, or ¥7.88 per share.
As of Nov. 14, US$1 was equivalent to ¥116.46.
