Latin Resources: EIA, drill permit approved for Catamarca lithium project

The Catamarca Environmental and Mines Department in Argentina has approved the environmental impact study and drill permit for Latin Resources Ltd.'s Catamarca lithium project, the company said in a Jan. 25 release.

Latin Resources appointed Major Drilling Co. as the contractor for the drilling program, which will comprise 24 reverse circulation holes totaling approximately 3,000 meters on four prospects. It is expected to start immediately.

According to the statement, the program will take around 15 to 20 days, with assay results to be released in February.

Meanwhile, a recent field sampling program at the property confirmed that economic grades of lithium are contained within the target prospects, with 19 of the 29 samples being 1% lithium oxide or higher, and the best grades showing from 2.02% lithium oxide to 4.46% lithium oxide.
