Barkerville's measured, indicated resource at Cariboo gold project grows

Barkerville Gold Mines Ltd.'s underground resources for the Cow, Island and Barkerville Mountain deposits at its Cariboo gold project in British Columbia swelled 50% in the measured and indicated category over the 2018 estimate.

The measured and indicated resource now stands at 2.4 million ounces of gold contained in 13.5 million tonnes of ore at a grade of 5.6 g/t, at a cut-off grade of 3.0 g/t of gold.

Meanwhile, the inferred resource stands at 1.9 Moz contained in 11.9 Mt of ore at a grade of 5.0 g/t, according to the May 29 release.

The estimate for the Cow and Island Mountain deposits is based on over 400,000 meters of drilling from 2015 to 2018, and historically verified data using a total of 3,426 drill holes.

Barkerville President and CEO Chris Lodder noted that the company will continue drilling at the property to add upside within the current resource area as well as the 67-kilometer mineralized trend controlled by the company.
