Swimmer Michael Phelps joins Medibio board

Medibio Ltd. appointed swimmer Michael Phelps to its board of directors.

Peter Carlisle, managing director of Octagon's Olympic and action sports division and Phelps' agent, will serve as an alternate board member.

Phelps, an advocate for mental health, retired from competitive swimming in 2016. Australia-based Medibio develops tests to diagnose depression, chronic stress and other mental health disorders.

Separately, the company will seek to trade its stock in the U.S. under the ticker symbol MDBIF. The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority Inc. allowed U.S. Canaccord Genuity Inc. to initiate a price quotation for the ticker symbol. Medibio said it will seek to trade on the OTCQB Venture Market.
