UBS appoints former EU commissioner to be Brexit adviser

UBS Group AG appointed Jonathan Hill to be an adviser for matters related to Britain's exit from the EU, the Financial Times reported May 29, citing a statement from the Swiss lender.

Hill previously served as European Commissioner for financial stability, financial services and the capital markets union from 2014 to 2016. He resigned from that role after the U.K. voted to leave the EU and has since then helped to establish Prosperity UK, a forum for businessmen to debate Brexit and consider Britain's future outside the bloc, according to the FT.
