Medica reopens individual Minn. health insurance enrollment for 2017

The Minnesota Department of Commerce announced that Medica is again accepting new individual health insurance enrollments for 2017, effective Jan. 31.

Medica previously limited its 2017 statewide enrollment to 50,000 to ensure its capacity to serve customers. However, fewer than expected people renewed their plans and Medica's 2017 enrollment fell below the set limit.

Medica policies are available only through MNsure, the state's health insurance exchange.
