Dolphin Hotels fiscal Q4 profit falls YOY

4980865 said its normalized net income for the fiscal fourth quarter ended March 31 was 1.84 Sri Lankan rupees per share, a decline of 20.7% from 2.32 rupees per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 58.1 million rupees, a decline of 20.8% from 73.4 million rupees in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin declined to 21.8% from 24.3% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue decreased 11.7% year over year to 267.0 million rupees from 302.2 million rupees, and total operating expenses declined 23.0% on an annual basis to 143.1 million rupees from 185.8 million rupees.

Reported net income decreased 34.6% on an annual basis to 70.8 million rupees, or 2.24 rupees per share, from 108.3 million rupees, or 3.42 rupees per share.

For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled 3.69 rupees per share, a gain of 54.1% from 2.39 rupees per share in the prior year.

Normalized net income was 116.7 million rupees, an increase of 54.1% from 75.7 million rupees in the prior year.

Full-year total revenue rose 43.5% on an annual basis to 870.8 million rupees from 606.8 million rupees, and total operating expenses rose 26.8% on an annual basis to 633.2 million rupees from 499.3 million rupees.

The company said reported net income rose 40.8% year over year to 155.9 million rupees, or 4.93 rupees per share, in the full year, from 110.7 million rupees, or 3.50 rupees per share.
