Compass Group PLC said its normalized net income for the fiscal first half ended March 31 came to 32 Great British pence per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 39 pence per share.
EPS rose 21.1% year over year from 27 pence.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was £510.9 million, an increase of 21.0% from £422.3 million in the prior-year period.
Total revenue rose 20.3% year over year to £11.47 billion from £9.54 billion, and total operating expenses climbed 20.2% year over year to £10.62 billion from £8.84 billion.
Reported net income grew 22.9% on an annual basis to £615.7 million, or 39 pence per share, from £500.8 million, or 32 pence per share.
