Khaled Bin Hussain Biyari has resigned as CEO of Saudi Telecom Co. after being appointed assistant minister of defense for executive affairs.

The company said Feb. 27 that its board tapped Nasser Bin Sulaiman Al Nasser as acting CEO, effective Feb. 26, for a six-month period.

Al Nasser has been serving as COO of Saudi Telecom, and currently is the chairman of the board of STC Solutions Inc. and a board member of the Turkish Telecommunications Co., and the Turkish company Avia.
