Blackstone Minerals Ltd. said Aug. 16 that it discovered visible gold and oxidized cobalt at a new prospect within its Little Gem property in British Columbia.
Surface rock chip samples were taken from the high-grade cobalt-gold prospect, called Erebor, which is located 900 meters along a new trend to the south-west of the Little Gem mine adits.
According to the company, Erebor is the first discovery of significant cobalt-gold mineralization in the region since prospectors discovered similar mineralization at Little Gem in the 1930's.
Blackstone, meanwhile, is waiting for the results of an induced polarization survey testing the over 1.8-kilometer strike target zone at Little Gem and the nearby Jewel prospect.
It is also close to completing a soil sampling program over several prospects near Little Gem, as well as regional reconnaissance sampling targeting about 335 square kilometers of cobalt-prospective tenure.
