Cota Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal fourth quarter ended March 31 was ¥24.18 per share, an increase from ¥7.44 per share in the year-earlier period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥115.6 million, a gain of 44.5% from ¥80.0 million in the year-earlier period.
The normalized profit margin climbed to 7.4% from 5.4% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue rose 6.3% year over year to ¥1.56 billion from ¥1.47 billion, and total operating expenses grew on an annual basis to ¥1.38 billion from ¥1.33 billion.
Reported net income rose year over year to ¥119.0 million, or ¥24.88 per share, from ¥55.0 million, or ¥5.12 per share.
For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled ¥43.69 per share, an increase of 18.2% from ¥36.95 per share in the prior year.
Normalized net income was ¥605.6 million, a gain of 6.7% from ¥567.5 million in the prior year.
Full-year total revenue grew 5.2% from the prior-year period to ¥6.18 billion from ¥5.88 billion, and total operating expenses rose on an annual basis to ¥5.20 billion from ¥4.96 billion.
The company said reported net income rose 17.2% year over year to ¥626.0 million, or ¥45.16 per share, in the full year, from ¥534.0 million, or ¥34.77 per share.
