Macquarie Infrastructure & Real Assets raises $5B for new fund

U.S.-based global alternative asset manager Macquarie Infrastructure & Real Assets Inc. said it raised $5 billion for its new North American-focused infrastructure fund, bringing its global capital raising to $29 billion over the past two years.

The fund, Macquarie Infrastructure Partners IV, reached its $5 billion hard cap in December 2018 after attracting commitments from investors from around the world. The fund is focused on investments across the transportation, communications, energy and waste infrastructure sectors and has already made a number of investments in these sectors.

Macquarie Infrastructure & Real Assets has more than $129 billion of AUM. It is a business division within the Macquarie Asset Management group of Macquarie Group Ltd.
