Premium Brands buys majority stake in Yorkshire Valley Farms

Canadian food manufacturer and distributor Premium Brands Holdings Corp. said July 30 that it bought a 62.6% stake in chicken processor Yorkshire Valley Farms Ltd. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Ontario-based Yorkshire produces and markets fresh and frozen organic chicken products under its namesake brand.

Premium Brands produces meat and specialty food products under a range of brands including Harvest and Grimm's. It said the investment will allow it to expand its protein product offerings while also helping Yorkshire accelerate its growth.
