O'Reilly Automotive Inc. said its normalized net income for the second quarter was $2.39 per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of $2.26 per share.
EPS climbed 26.9% year over year from $1.89.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was $244.5 million, a gain of 20.4% from $203.0 million in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin increased to 12.0% from 11.0% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue climbed 10.2% on an annual basis to $2.04 billion from $1.85 billion, and total operating expenses grew 8.0% year over year to $1.63 billion from $1.51 billion.
Reported net income rose 13.8% from the prior-year period to $233.8 million, or $2.29 per share, from $205.4 million, or $1.91 per share.
