Emerson Electric Co. said that it has agreed to acquire Cooper-Atkins Corp., a company that specializes in temperature management and environmental measurement devices and wireless monitoring solutions in the restaurant and food retail industry.

Emerson said that Cooper-Atkins' acquisition will enhance its global cold chain operations, which includes the ProAct Services portfolio for supermarkets, and the Cargo Solutions business, which offers real-time perishable cargo tracking and monitoring services.

The acquisition, subject to various regulatory approvals, is expected to close within the next 60 days. Terms of the deal were undisclosed.
