Innogy partners with Irish company to develop 600-MW offshore wind project

Germany-based innogy SE will take an equal share in the 600-MW Dublin Array offshore wind project after reaching a strategic partnership with Irish developer Saorgus Energy Ltd.

As part of the deal, innogy subsidiary innogy Renewables Ireland will lead the next phase of development of the project in the Irish Sea off the coast of Dublin, according to a March 26 release.

"Once operational, Dublin Array will help enable the Irish Government to meet its 2020-2030 EU energy targets, will contribute to increasing the diversity of renewable energy supply in Ireland and will deliver much-needed clean electricity to Dublin," Saorgus Energy Director Aidan Forde said in a statement.

Innogy develops, constructs and operates seven offshore wind farms in three European countries with a combined installed capacity of approximately 925 MW.
