Guzman Energy, NGC Partners to develop 150-MW wind farm in Colorado

Guzman Energy LLC is teaming up with NGC Partners to develop the 150-MW Arriba wind farm in Lincoln County, Colo., according to an Aug. 23 news release.

The wind farm will sell 100 MW of its output to Holy Cross Energy Inc. The not-for-profit rural electric cooperative, which serves more than 43,000 members in western Colorado, has a goal of achieving 70% annual energy from renewable sources no later than 2030.

Guzman Energy will use the remaining 50 MW from the wind farm to serve other communities in its customer base. However, the company has the option to increase the project size by 50 MW and expand its share of the project to 100 MW under an agreement.

The Arriba wind farm is scheduled to begin operations by mid-2021.
