Kroger Co. will remove assault rifle-themed periodicals from its stores amid the gun control debate in the U.S., Bloomberg reported March 16, citing a company spokeswoman.
The decision follows the Ohio-based supermarket operator's recent move to halt gun sales to buyers under the age of 21 at its Fred Meyer stores, joining Walmart Inc. and Dick's Sporting Goods Inc.'s measures to tighten gun restrictions after the Parkland school shooting incident.
Kroger spokeswoman Kristal Howard reportedly told Bloomberg that the retailer will continue to carry some gun magazines.
