New Residential Investment Corp. closed its acquisition of mortgage servicing rights and related servicer advances from Walter Capital Opportunity LP and its subsidiaries and Ditech Financial LLC.
The New York-based investment company acquired in December 2016 approximately $32.5 billion unpaid principal balance of mortgage servicing rights and related servicer advances of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac residential mortgage loans from the entities for a purchase price of approximately $244.3 million and $34.8 million, respectively.
Ditech subservices the portfolio on behalf of New Residential Mortgage LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of New Residential Investment.
