DexCom wins patent lawsuit against WaveForm Technologies

DexCom Inc. said the U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon has invalidated all asserted claims by WaveForm Technologies Inc. regarding two remaining patents.

WaveForm, a unit of AgaMatrix Inc., sued DexCom in 2016, saying that Dexcom's G4 and G5 CGM products infringe on three of its patents. San Diego-based DexCom challenged the patents, with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office's Patent Trial and Appeal Board upholding two and defeating another.

The court has now backed up DexCom's claims, finding that the company is not in violation of WaveForm's patents.

DexCom is a provider of continuous glucose monitoring technology, used to help patients manage diabetes.
