Unicafe Inc. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended Sept. 30 came to ¥6.46 per share, a decrease of 44.4% from ¥11.60 per share in the year-earlier period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥89.4 million, a decline of 44.4% from ¥160.6 million in the year-earlier period.
The normalized profit margin dropped to 3.7% from 5.5% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue decreased 17.4% on an annual basis to ¥2.43 billion from ¥2.95 billion, and total operating expenses declined 16.4% from the prior-year period to ¥2.29 billion from ¥2.74 billion.
Reported net income fell 37.6% on an annual basis to ¥131.0 million, or ¥9.46 per share, from ¥210.0 million, or ¥15.17 per share.
As of Nov. 14, US$1 was equivalent to ¥116.46.
