Seven & i Holdings fiscal Q3 profit falls YOY

Seven & i Holdings Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Nov. 30, 2014, was ¥55.20 per share, compared with ¥55.72 per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥48.83 billion, compared with ¥49.27 billion in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin declined to 3.3% from 3.6% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue increased 8.6% on an annual basis to ¥1.497 trillion from ¥1.379 trillion, and total operating expenses increased 9.3% from the prior-year period to ¥1.415 trillion from ¥1.294 trillion.

Reported net income decreased on an annual basis to ¥43.40 billion, or ¥49.06 per share, from ¥44.68 billion, or ¥50.53 per share.
