Q4’21 US Power Forecast: Will high commodity prices accelerate the energy transition?

Advanced Power sells stake in Ohio gas project to Japanese oil company

Advanced Power AG has sold a 15% membership stake in South Field Energy Partners LLC, owner of the 1,182-MW South Field Energy natural gas-fired, combined-cycle plant currently under construction in Columbiana County, Ohio.

The membership interest was sold to ENEOS Power USA LLC, an affiliate of Japan-based JXTG Nippon Oil & Energy Corp., for an undisclosed amount. Other Japanese firms already own interests in the project.

Once the South Field facility reaches commercial operation by mid-2021, its output will be sold into the PJM Interconnection market.

Advanced Power is the developer of the facility, while Bechtel Corp. is the engineering, procurement and construction contractor of the project.
