Former Piper Jaffray financial services analyst moves to investment firm

Jason Deleeuw, a former financial services and technology analyst at Piper Jaffray Cos., has joined the alternative investment firm Rice Park Capital LP.

In an interview, Deleeuw said he started with the company in January as a managing director. Rice Park is based in Minneapolis and has venture capital, fixed-income and real estate investment verticals.

A couple of its portfolio companies include Realized Holdings Inc., a provider of an online real estate exchange platform, and Blue Water Financial Technologies LLC, an exchange for U.S. mortgage assets, according to Rice Park's website.

Before Piper Jaffray, Deleeuw was a member of the investment team at Pine River Capital Management LP and focused on financial technology, real estate technology and specialty finance investments.

Piper Jaffray recently closed its acquisition of Sandler O'Neill & Partners LP and changed its name to Piper Sandler Cos. The combination of Sandler O'Neill and Piper Jaffray created overlap in the companies' equity research coverage.

With Piper, Deleeuw's coverage included Alliance Data Systems Corp., American Express Co., Black Knight Inc., Cannae Holdings Inc., CoreLogic Inc., Euronet Worldwide Inc., Fidelity National Financial Inc., First American Financial Corp., First Data Corp., Global Payments Inc., International Money Express Inc., Mastercard Inc., PayPal Holdings Inc., RE/MAX Holdings Inc., Realogy Holdings Corp., Redfin Corp., Square Inc., Visa Inc. and Worldpay Inc.
