C.H. Robinson Worldwide Inc. said its normalized net income for the third quarter was 98 cents per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 94 cents per share.
EPS rose 16.4% year over year from 84 cents.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was $141.3 million, a gain of 14.7% from $123.2 million in the year-earlier period.
The normalized profit margin climbed to 4.1% from 3.6% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue declined on an annual basis to $3.42 billion from $3.47 billion, and total operating expenses decreased year over year to $3.19 billion from $3.26 billion.
Reported net income grew 11.3% year over year to $139.0 million, or 96 cents per share, from $124.8 million, or 85 cents per share.
