HFF opens London ops with completion of Leon Partners deal

HFF Inc. has completed its acquisition of Leon Partners Ltd., an investment banking-focused real estate advisory firm based in London.

The deal marks HFF's entry into the U.K., the company said in a press release.

David Church and Raj Somchand, who founded Leon Partners, will lead the London office's corporate finance and investment banking business. Michael Kavanau, who is a senior managing director for HFF and co-led the company's Chicago office, has relocated to London.

In the second quarter, Jamie Pope will join the company to co-lead the London office with Church and Kavanau. Pope was previously managing director of CBRE's central London investment division. John Starkie, who will specialize in the acquisition, disposal and strategic consultancy of commercial property in the central London market, will also join the company.
