Uber Technologies Inc. is on track for an initial public offering in 2019, the company's CEO Dara Khosrowshahi told CNBC (US)'s Carl Quintanilla at the Code Conference in Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.
"Lots of things can happen in the world but we have a reasonable buffer as well, so I think we're in a pretty good spot," Khosrowshahi said, adding that the ride-hailing service was considering the second half of 2019 for the IPO, CNBC.com reported May 30.
Separately, Berkshire Hathaway Inc. Chairman, President and CEO Warren Buffett confirmed that his company had talks with Uber regarding an investment in the ride-hailing service, but said certain reported details are incorrect.
According to a report in August 2017, Khosrowshahi expected the company to go public in 18 to 36 months.
