Japan's producer price index was stable on a month-over-month basis at 100.3 in February, following a 0.3% increase in the previous month, preliminary data from the Bank of Japan showed.
On an annual basis, the index rose 2.5% in February after a 2.7% climb in the previous month.
Excluding extra charges for summer electricity, the February index was unchanged at 100.3.
On a contract currency basis, the export price index rose 0.4% month over month to 102.4 in February, after a revised 0.2% increase in January, whereas the import price index climbed 1.8% to 104.9, after a revised 1.0% rise in January.
