White Cliff posts 60% increase in contained gold at Aucu project

White Cliff Minerals Ltd. posted a 60% increase in contained gold ounces in the inferred category at the Aucu gold-copper project in Kyrgyzstan to 484,000 ounces of gold contained in 2.95 million tonnes grading 5.1 g/t gold.

Contained copper in the inferred category for the Chanach copper deposit increased 46% to 64,000 tonnes in 17.2 million tonnes grading 0.37% copper.

Previous estimates in April 2017 outlined an inferred gold resource of 1.8 million tonnes at 5.2 g/t gold for 302,000 contained ounces and an inferred copper resource of 608,000 tonnes at 0.64% copper for 3,870 tonnes of contained copper, using a cutoff grade of 0.25% copper.

In March, the miner said its main focus is to advance Aucu and Managing Director Todd Hibberd said its cobalt-nickel portfolio has "a realistic chance of being developed" in the current cobalt pricing environment.
