EBay Inc. said Feb. 2 that it is partnering with online news and entertainment platform Mashable to offer "shoppable" editorial content and easy access to products across the U.S. and the U.K.
The partnership will enable Mashable's readers to use eBay to shop and browse products seen in stories on the media site. By embedding eBay access within Mashable, the e-commerce company's marketing team expects to gather data and consumer insights into areas such as seller reputation and delivery time.
Participating articles on Mashable will have images with shopping tag icons on them that users can click to shop for the featured items. This is the first such partnership that eBay has undertaken.
