Natural Alternatives International fiscal Q3 profit climbs YOY

Natural Alternatives International Inc. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended March 31 came to 10 cents per share, a gain from 10 cents per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was $671,250, an increase from $658,130 in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin fell to 3.4% from 3.4% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue increased on an annual basis to $19.6 million from $19.1 million, and total operating expenses rose from the prior-year period to $18.6 million from $18.0 million.

Reported net income grew 31.7% from the prior-year period to $811,260, or 12 cents per share, from $615,870, or 9 cents per share.
