National Beverage Corp. said its normalized net income for the fiscal fourth quarter ended May 2 amounted to 25 cents per share, a gain of 19.2% from 21 cents per share in the prior-year period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was $11.5 million, a gain of 19.4% from $9.6 million in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin rose to 7.0% from 5.9% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue totaled $164.6 million, compared with $164.3 million in the year-earlier period, and total operating expenses decreased from the prior-year period to $146.1 million from $147.9 million.
Reported net income grew from the prior-year period to $12.1 million, or 26 cents per share, from $11.6 million, or 25 cents per share.
For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled 99 cents per share, a gain of 16.2% from 85 cents per share in the prior year.
Normalized net income was $45.9 million, a rise of 16.3% from $39.4 million in the prior year.
Full-year total revenue totaled $645.8 million, compared with $641.1 million in the prior year, and total operating expenses totaled $571.8 million, compared with $576.7 million in the prior-year period.
The company said reported net income rose 14.2% on an annual basis to $48.9 million, or $1.05 per share, in the full year, from $42.8 million, or 92 cents per share.
