Zalando announces '18 outlook, plans to roll out beauty category by end of March

German online fashion retailer Zalando SE said March 1 that it expects revenue growth to range between 20% and 25% in 2018 and add approximately €1 billion to its revenue at the midpoint of the range. The company aims to increase adjusted EBIT to €220 million to €270 million in 2018.

The fashion retailer, in its quest to expand its offerings, plans to launch a beauty category by the end of March and introduce new brands such as Swarovski and Massimo Dutti. In 2018, the company aims to add two European markets to the list of 15 it already serves. To further expand its logistical footprint, Zalando plans to construct fulfillment hubs in Lodz, an industrial hub in Poland, and Verona, a city in the Veneto, Italy.

The company also intends to set up a satellite warehouse in Stockholm and increase production at its Szczecin facility in Poland. The retailer aims to further the automation of its site in Lahr, Germany. Zalando said it aims to create about 2,000 additional jobs in 2018, most of them in Berlin, as the company increases its investment in talent.

In 2017, Zalando's revenue grew 23.4 % to €4.49 billion, and its net income was €101.6 million.
