Chipotle Mexican Grill Inc. said its second-quarter normalized net income was $4.57 per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of $4.44 per share.
EPS increased 26.1% year over year from $3.63.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was $144.1 million, an increase of 26.3% from $114.1 million in the year-earlier period.
The normalized profit margin climbed to 12.0% from 10.9% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue increased 14.1% on an annual basis to $1.20 billion from $1.05 billion, and total operating expenses climbed 11.6% from the prior-year period to $969.0 million from $868.6 million.
Reported net income grew 27.4% year over year to $140.3 million, or $4.45 per share, from $110.2 million, or $3.50 per share.
