FGB, NBAD to name merged entity First Abu Dhabi Bank

The bank created by the merger of Abu Dhabi-based First Gulf Bank PJSC and National Bank of Abu Dhabi PJSC will be known as First Abu Dhabi Bank.

The new name is subject to regulatory approvals and to approval by a general assembly of shareholders. The merger took legal effect April 1, creating the United Arab Emirates' largest bank, with assets in excess of $180 billion.
