Report: TC Energy restarts Gulf Coast pipeline after floods disrupted operations

TC Energy Corp. resumed operations at its Marketlink oil pipeline from the Cushing, Okla., hub to Nederland, Texas, after being shut down due to flash floods, Reuters reported Sept. 23, citing a TC Energy spokesperson.

"We safely brought the system back online and have resumed deliveries," the midstream company's representative said in an email to Reuters. TC Energy halted flows on the 750,000-barrel-per-day pipeline after the Energy Transfer LP-owned Nederland terminal, which is connected to Marketlink, also briefly shut down.

TC Energy and Energy Transfer were among the energy companies that temporarily shut pipeline and terminal operations due to heavy rains resulting from Tropical Depression Imelda in parts of southeastern Texas, Reuters reported.

Phillips 66, which shut down its Beaumont terminal in Nederland as a safety precaution, also restarted operations by Sept. 23, according to the report.
