NextEra Energy Operating Partners offering $500M of senior unsecured notes

NextEra Energy Partners on Sept. 19 launched a $500 million private offering of NextEra Energy Operating Partners senior unsecured notes due 2026, subject to market and other conditions.

Net proceeds from the sale will be added to NextEra Energy Operating Partners' general funds, which it expects to use for general corporate purposes. These general corporate purposes may include funding a cash tender offer to purchase Genesis Solar 2011 Pass-Through Trust's outstanding 3.875% Series A Trust Certificates due 2038 and 5.125% Series B Trust Certificates due 2038.

NextEra Energy Operating Partners said it may temporarily invest proceeds in short-term instruments.
