John Lasseter, head of Pixar Animation Studios and Walt Disney Co.'s Walt Disney Animation Studios, will leave the company Dec. 31, Cnet reported June 8, citing Disney.
The Pixar cofounder was reported to take a six-month leave of absence in November 2017 after acknowledging "missteps." He will stay on in a consulting role at the company until his departure at year-end, Cnet reported.
"The last six months have provided an opportunity to reflect on my life, career and personal priorities," the "Toy Story" director reportedly said. He will focus on "new creative challenges" after the exit, Cnet reported.
