MS&AD Insurance Group Holdings Inc. appointed a new chief risk officer and made several changes to the directors on its board.
The insurer appointed Fumiaki Ohkawabata as senior executive officer and chief risk officer, effective April 1. Ohkawabata is currently a director and executive officer.
Masahiro Higuchi and Takashi Kuroda, who are both executive officers, were appointed as directors, while Akira Arima, Kazuhito Ikeo and Junichi Tobimatsu were named as outside directors.
Ariama is senior adviser to the board of NTT Communications Corp., while Ikeo is a professor of economics at Keio University. Tobimatsu is an attorney-at-law at Tobimatsu Law.
Meanwhile, Ohkawabata and Masaaki Nishikata will resign as directors, while Akira Watanabe and Daiken Tsunoda will resign as outside directors.
The board changes are subject to approval at the company's general shareholders' meeting in June.
