Ahold Delhaize's Stop & Shop, Giant recall frozen broccoli over listeria risk

Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV-owned supermarket chains Stop & Shop Supermarket Co. and Giant Food Stores on May 21 issued a recall of frozen broccoli sold at their stores after the product tested positive for listeria monocytogenes.

Products subject to the recall are 16-ounce packs of Private Brands Frozen Broccoli Cuts with a best-before date of March 15, 2020.

The recall came after the Food and Standards division of Connecticut's Department of Consumer Protection found that the product contained the potentially deadly bacteria.

The supermarket chains are urging customers to return the purchased items for a full refund.
