Electronics Industry Q1 loss widens YOY

Electronics Industry Public Co. Ltd. said its first-quarter normalized net income was a loss of 52.3 million baht, compared with a loss of 47,500 baht in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis.

The normalized profit margin dropped to negative 91.0% from negative 0.1% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue grew 10.8% year over year to 48.3 million baht from 43.6 million baht, and total operating expenses climbed 93.7% year over year to 83.6 million baht from 43.2 million baht.

Reported net income came to a loss of 97.5 million baht, or a loss of 15 satang per share, compared to a loss of 177,140 baht, or a loss of 0 satang per share, in the prior-year period.

As of May 16, US$1 was equivalent to 35.39 baht.
