Atrum ups total Elan South coal resource by 170% to 97 million tonnes

Atrum Coal Ltd. said Jan. 8 that an updated indicated and inferred resource estimate for the Elan South area, part of the Elan hard coking coal project in Alberta, increased by 170% to about 97 million tonnes.

The indicated resource totaled 31.3 million tonnes, while the inferred resource stood at 66 million tonnes.

The resource estimate was prepared following the completion of a 6,900-meter drilling program, which included 12 reverse circulation drill holes and 20 rotary air blast drill holes.

Updated resource estimates from other deposits within Elan is expected to be released this month, with the coal quality results to be announced shortly following completion.
