Ameren Missouri, legally known as Union Electric Co., is proposing to state regulators a plan under the Missouri Energy Efficiency Investment Act including 26 programs with $285 million in rebates available for customers.
The Ameren Corp. subsidiary plans to invest approximately $92 million annually for the next six years on electric energy efficiency, which the company said would save 2 billion kWh of energy.
If approved by the Missouri Public Service Commission, the programs will run from 2019 to 2024.
"By expanding the program to six years, we're able to include a wider range of options, including 15 new programs," Ameren Missouri Director of Energy Efficiency and Renewables Bill Davis said in a June 4 news release.
The proposed programs would save customers' money, offer customers more control over power consumption, introduce more ways for customers to participate, and expand programs to provide energy savings for customers most in need.
