Retail Partners fiscal Q2 profit climbs 14.2% YOY

Retail Partners Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended Aug. 31 was ¥23.23 per share, a gain of 14.1% from ¥20.36 per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥567.0 million, a gain of 14.2% from ¥496.4 million in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin rose to 2.6% from 2.3% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue came to ¥21.50 billion, compared with ¥21.72 billion in the year-earlier period, and total operating expenses decreased on an annual basis to ¥20.63 billion from ¥20.96 billion.

Reported net income grew 23.4% on an annual basis to ¥596.0 million, or ¥24.42 per share, from ¥483.0 million, or ¥19.82 per share.

As of Oct. 10, US$1 was equivalent to ¥107.98.
