BMW global sales rise 1.3% YOY in July

Bayerische Motoren Werke AG on Aug. 13 posted 1.3% year-over-year growth in its global sales during July.

The German carmaker sold 183,487 vehicles in July. Sales of the BMW X family jumped by 27.2%.

Sales of BMW brand in July came in at 157,062 units, up 1.6%. Mini brand's sales came down by 0.8% to 26,031 units.

The company sold 10,069 electric vehicles in July, down 5.4% year over year.

Sales of both the BMW and Mini brands in China grew 15.6% to 53,953 units while sales in Germany increased by 26.5% to 28,387. European sales came in at 75,511 units, down by 1.9%. In the U.S., the brands' sales came down by 1.7% to 25,842 units.

In June, the automaker's sales rose 0.7% year over year.
