CMS seeks public input to identify burdensome ACA regulations

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services is soliciting comments from the public on which regulations to change or eliminate from the Affordable Care Act.

The request for information is intended to create a more "flexible, streamlined approach" to the regulatory structure of the individual and small group markets, the agency wrote in a release.

The solicitation is meant to identify and eliminate regulations that are outdated, unnecessary, or ineffective; impose costs that exceed benefits; or create "inconsistencies that otherwise interfere with regulatory reform initiatives and policies."

The request for information will be open for public comment for 30 days.
