Boenning & Scattergood ends coverage of 22 REITs after analyst departure

Boenning & Scattergood Inc. terminated coverage of 22 real estate investment trusts covered by departing analyst Floris van Dijkum and suspended coverage of four.

Van Dijkum joined Boenning in late 2015, and the firm hired Merrill Ross as a second REIT analyst, covering small-cap companies, in May. Van Dijkum's coverage, which focused on REITs in the retail and hospitality sectors, leaned toward larger companies.

Van Dijkum could not be reached for comment, and Matthew Schultheis, Boenning's director of research, said the firm remains dedicated to the REIT space.

The firm terminated coverage of Brixmor Property Group Inc., CBL & Associates Properties Inc., DDR Corp., DiamondRock Hospitality Co., Federal Realty Investment Trust, GGP Inc., Host Hotels & Resorts Inc., Kimco Realty Corp., LaSalle Hotel Properties, Park Hotels & Resorts Inc., Pebblebrook Hotel Trust, RLJ Lodging Trust, Regency Centers Corp., Retail Properties of America Inc., Seritage Growth Properties, Simon Property Group Inc., Sunstone Hotel Investors Inc., Tanger Factory Outlet Centers Inc., Taubman Centers Inc., Macerich Co., Washington Prime Group Inc. and Weingarten Realty Investors.

Boenning suspended coverage of Acadia Realty Trust, Cedar Realty Trust Inc., Pennsylvania Real Estate Investment Trust and RAMCO.
