Chuan Hup fiscal Q2 profit climbs YOY

Chuan Hup Holdings Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended Dec. 31, 2015, was $1.4 million, a gain from $651,500 in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis.

The normalized profit margin rose to 2.8% from 1.3% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue came to $49.6 million, compared with $49.7 million in the prior-year period, and total operating expenses grew from the prior-year period to $47.6 million from $45.8 million.

Reported net income grew from the prior-year period to $3.5 million, or 0 cents per share, from $922,000, or 0 cents per share.
