Scala Inc. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended Dec. 31, 2015, came to ¥6.26 per share, an increase of 10.2% from ¥5.68 per share in the year-earlier period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥87.5 million, a gain of 10.2% from ¥79.4 million in the year-earlier period.
The normalized profit margin fell to 13.5% from 14.7% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue increased 19.6% year over year to ¥646.0 million from ¥540.0 million, and total operating expenses grew 24.3% year over year to ¥516.0 million from ¥415.0 million.
Reported net income rose 53.1% from the prior-year period to ¥98.0 million, or ¥7.02 per share, from ¥64.0 million, or ¥4.58 per share.
As of Feb. 15, US$1 was equivalent to ¥114.50.
